II.Water Environment

The general water quality in Shanghai in 2006 remains almost the same as in 2005,particular in main streams of Huangpu River, Suzhou Creek and the estuary of Yangtze River. Similarly, there’s no obvious vibration in key waterways restored in both urban and suburban areas.

1.Main Streams of Huangpu River

Compared with 2005, water quality in Dianfeng and Linjiang, the two main streams of Huangpu River, has decreased slightly in 2006. And in the other four cross sections including Songpu Bridge, Nanshi Water Plant, Yangpu Bridge and Wusongkou, water quality is similar to that in 2005.
