I.Ambient Air Environment

In 2006, there were 324 days evaluated as good-air quality (defined when the city's air quality index reaches Grade II or better), and good-air quality rate was 88.8%. There were 321 days when PM recorded as the top pollutants, accounting for 87.94% of the year, 10 days (7.4%) when SO as the top pollutants, 10 days (2.74%) when NO as the top pollutants, 7 days (1.92%) when both PM and So as the top pollutants.

The recent five-year (2002-2006) monitoring data showed that local good-air quality rate continues to be improved in general. Especially from 2003 to 2006, this rate maintained above 85% consecutively.
